Greetings and Welcome
Welcome to the website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated©, Sigma Omega Omega Chapter. Founded in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is an international organization of college educated women providing “Service to All Mankind”.
The Sigma Omega Omega Chapter (SOO) exemplifies that mission and has demonstrated a legacy of Sisterhood and Service in the Douglas County community since it was chartered on December 29, 1990. We are part of the Significant South Atlantic Region under the leadership of Regional Director, Sharon Brown Harriott.
The spectacular women of SOO are committed to executing the International Programs of service established by our 29th International President Dr. Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson: Launching New Dimensions of Service℠.
Our 2014 – 2018 Program Targets are Educational Enrichment, Health Promotion, Family Strengthening, Environmental Ownership, and Global Impact. The signature youth enrichment program ASCEND℠, is designed to motivate, engage and assist high school students in reaching their maximum potential.
If you are a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. we invite you to chapter meeting on the fourth Saturday of each month at 10 am. Our normal meeting location is the Douglasville Conference Center. Please check the website for meeting location and/or date changes as we sometimes relocate due to special occasions.
